Wisdom for defining moments

  • cabiojinia

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye, is a clear promise God made to his own as we journey from earth to heaven.

Life is a series of cause and effect; a compendium of waking up and sleeping and everything in between, but it’s also a sum of big and small decisions.

How well we enjoy our sleep can be traced to the decisions we make while awake. Those decisions also determine how we feel as we go through our years on the earth.

Every day in life is reputed important, from when we are born to when we depart this earth. Every hour is valuable from when we rise in the morning to when we lie down at night. Every moment is important and should be enjoyed.

However, there are moments in life that define the trajectory of our life more than others. Such moments can cause a shift whose effects can last for weeks, months, years, or an entire lifetime. It can be a casual meeting, a simple yes or no answer, an unassuming opportunity, or a divine encounter with God.

What happens next could be a series of events that completely alter our life and destination.

Solomon had just become the king who completed the Temple of God. Israel was excited about his reign as he had inherited the throne from his father. Soon after that was a defining moment for him and his reign. Two women came with a tough case before him. A case that required extraordinary wisdom to tackle. To make his decision, Solomon called on the supernatural wisdom God had just bestowed upon him. Through this, he restored the living child to the right mother. The news spread throughout the land, and everyone revered King Solomon because of the wisdom displayed. Solomon consolidated his kingship by that judgment. He understood a major defining moment and exploited it well.

Dear reader, in all your possessions, acquire the wisdom necessary for making appropriate life decisions, and more importantly, wisdom for the defining moments of your life.

There are times when you are aware that whatever decision you make will define your life. But there are times you are clueless. Sometimes you are even at the crossroads with options that show advantages and risks, but unable to readily predict what is at the end of each path.

Dear reader, to make the wisest decisions during your defining moments, you’ll need something beyond natural wisdom. You will need divine wisdom from God’s Spirit to navigate life’s intricate moments.

God made a promise in Isaiah 30 verse 21. He said, Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.

Submit yourself to God, and He will guide you through the thick uncharted forest of life. You will go far, and God will sustain you.
