What did you see when you looked?

  • cabiojinia

God to Abraham: “As far as your eyes can see will I give to you and your seed forever.”

The question is: what did you see when you looked? That is if you even looked at all.
The answer would determine your response.

1. If you can’t see anything, the right prayer and attitude should be to ask for sight. The promise is attached to what you see, so sight is a conditio sine qua non.

    2. If you are seeing the wrong and unpleasant thing(s), then you need to change your position and perspective. Again, what you see is what you receive. So, if you are only seeing your limiting beliefs, incapacitation, and unpleasant future, that’s what you’ll get. Therefore, a radical change in position and/or perspective is/are paramount.

    3. If you can see a bit of the right thing, but the rest is blurred, then you need clarity. The Person that asked you to look and possess is standing right beside you, so, be free to tell Him that your vision is fuzzy. He will give you clarity because He genuinely wants you to possess that right thing.

    4. If you are seeing the right things, then you need to walk towards them. Don’t leave God behind and run all alone to the things that your eyes can see. That was how Lot saw good things and moved with Him. Rather see the right things and ask Him to take the lead. That’s gratitude and submission.

Remember that they become yours when the soles of your feet step on them. Literally or figuratively. So, move.

In all, there’s a corresponding response to what God has said. Start from there.

Thanks for reading. You can go around this website for more inspiring posts. Stay blessed.
