In Exodus 8 verses 5-13, we learn of the plague of frogs that were brought upon the Egyptians. It was so severe that Pharaoh had to plead with Moses to ask God to remove the frogs. Moses gave Pharaoh the liberty to request when the frogs should be taken out, and Pharaoh said, “tomorrow”. Moses immediately told him that it would be according to his request. Moses prayed and it happened.
In doing so, God confirmed the word of his servant Moses and showed that there is none like Him, the Creator and Ruler of all creation. However, in performing that miraculous act, God also granted Pharaoh’s request.
To go even further, the Omniscient God knew that Pharaoh’s heart would become hardened after the respite, yet he granted that request. We have a confirmation of this in Exodus 8:15.
The same scenario played out in Exodus 8:24-32 when God sent swarms of flies. A plague, a request, prayers granted and a hardening of Pharaoh’s heart.
Therefore, if God, in His mercy, still granted the requests of Pharaoh, please, don’t tell me that God won’t answer my prayers. If God granted the request of a sinful slave master, who relished in torturing God’s people to death, God will grant my heart desires that will help humans.
Tonight, I will cry like Moses; the things God said concerning me by the words of his servants and in the Holy Scriptures must be mine.
