I’ve always been intrigued by God’s response to Job in the Bible. One thing that has particularly caught my attention is the feature of the leviathan described in Job 41:16. Talking about the tightly sealed scales of this sea creature, God said that they are so near one to another that no air can come between them.
These scales give beauty, warmth but also strength and safety to the animal seeing they serve as a barrier to foreign bodies. A little cleft/opening that permits some air, will also allow some water. It might also allow a small piercing object, which in turn will provide the entrance for a sword. I leave you to guess what will be the fate of this animal if the ‘carapace’ isn’t intact.
Beloved, I can’t find a better description of Unity/togetherness and her immense benefits than the one above.
Another example: the testudo formation employed by the Roman army as a defensive technique brought them unprecedented victories over the barbarians and their enemies in general.
The importance of Unity (as a product of true love) in the church, family, relationships, nation can’t be overemphasized. You can’t advance a good cause while bickering, with eyes looking in opposite directions.
Also, guard your ministry and vision against slits. Take care of your weak points and you won’t regret you did.
God bless us. (Eccl. 4:12; Job 41:15-17)
