We live in an era of much consumption but low retention.
We consume more information than any generation did but we retain fewer facts.
We can read a post talking about the death of someone and feel sorrow. But the next second we are laughing at the joke in a post below.
A generation that knows McDonald’s menu off by heart but can’t tell the name of the nearby street without the aid of Google Maps.
We eat everything but never spend time to digest anything.
We’re too quick to share any idea that crosses our mind that we have no time to muse on the idea and experience its import.
We feel happy or unhappy based on the number of people that like our photos and posts.
A generation that can’t stay on their jobs because they feel that someone somewhere has it better than they do.
A generation that has turned her attention from God towards her phones
We can’t sleep without it and we dare not wake up without
We chat all day yet communicate nothing.
We live online while we die slowly offline.
We are so restless that our hands can’t stay calm for a minute, talk less of our minds.
Our minds wander so fast through the whole earth that we can’t concentrate on what is before us.
We are distracted by everything and can’t focus on anything.
We are shaped by everything and defined by nothing.
A generation that lives in blurred lines, with no clear distinction between good and bad.
We binge watch, binge drink, binge read, binge listen, no wonder our confusion can’t be properly diagnosed.
We want more yet we give less.
A generation that talks so much yet saying absolutely nothing.
We live in times when we can’t disagree without hating each other.
An individualistic generation that craves for MeToo instead of WeToo.
We boldly promote evil but shy away to support good.
A generation that calls evil good and good evil.
A generation that demands freedom of speech but will hound you to death if you disagree with her ungodly values.
We live in times where values are traded for notoriety.
A generation that listens to the loudest but not the wisest.
A generation that would rather shout than listen to a different opinion.
But there is hope.
There is an army of young men & women rising.
A people that have been incubated by God.
A group raised to raise the banner of Jesus.
A people called out but now sent in for restoration.
They’re rising from every corner of the globe
I can hear their voices ring in my spirit.
When that will be, however, is what only God can tell.
But it won’t tarry.

A generation is rising…. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for reading, Judy. May we be part of this generation that God is raising.
