Each day, life presents us with several gifts, but it’s our choice to accept or decline the offers. Do you know how good your day would be and how much you’d accomplish if you went through the day maintaining a happy disposition, not allowing anything or anyone to make you develop a negative emotion? Most times, we go through the day allowing whatever is thrown at us to dictate how we feel about ourselves and how our lives should go.
You must be intentional about maintaining a happy disposition all day by kicking against negative emotions that tend to arise in reaction to negative external forces. And fix your heart on the things that feed your happiness. Your happiness is too important to be left in the hands of changing daily circumstances. It is one of those things you shouldn’t outsource. Own it and keep it in the hands of God.
If you can jealously guard your happiness daily against unhealthy attitudes from others;
If you can own your happiness against wrong thoughts;
If you can preserve your happiness against the negativity life throws at you;
You’ll see how different your days will be.
Don’t believe me, just try it out. š
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever thingsĀ areĀ honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. – Philippians 4:8
