“A cry was heard in Ramah— weeping and great mourning. Rachel weeps for her children, refusing to be comforted, for they are dead.” Matthew 2:18.
You know, it’s always easy to encourage others whenever they are passing through difficult times. You only need to open your mouth and let out sentences like ‘It shall be well. God is in control. Be courageous. It won’t last for long.’
But when such negative circumstances come your way, you realize how hard it was for that woman/man to stop crying despite your empathic words.
I can’t say if one needs to go through certain pains in life before the person can help others in similar pains. But I know that success in healing the pains of others largely depends on your depth of appreciation of their pains. Yeah, that’s what I’ve learnt in my short moment on this terrestrial ball.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15)
May Christ Jesus heal our pains.
