An important insight was given to us by the Prophet Isaiah on how the enemy prepares his attacks on us. As usual with God’s Word, many treasures are buried in its lines that you have to pause to see them and dig to get them.
He told us that the devil and his demons spend time reasoning, designing, moulding, refining and planning the appropriate deployment strategy of the weapons targeted at the servants (children) of God. This already informs us that the attacks children of God receive aren’t casual but well orchestrated.
However, I’ve been asking myself where satan draws his raw materials to build his arsenal. My book on Joseph’s dreams and article on how to overcome temptation clearly show how satan gathers the information he uses.
One thing I may have missed in the above-cited materials is that many people actually help satan to fashion the weapons against them. Daily, some of us feed Satan with the raw materials necessary to fashion weapons against us. When all you do is think of evil towards you and your family, you are giving Satan valuable insights on how to design weapons to afflict you and pin you down.
Job said that the things which he greatly feared had come upon him. The fear of Job may have given satan an idea of where to attack him. The fears of our lives supply the demons with the ammunition to finish us. Of what use are the demons and their cohorts investing time to devise a weapon that wouldn’t hit their target? So, they observe your thoughts and words to know the strategies that, when applied, will affect you in the deepest part of your being.
Your thoughts are powerful—the same as your words. Whatever you say and think, you shall have. You will be satisfied or dissatisfied with the fruits of your thoughts and mouth. The choice is yours, but I counsel you to think the thoughts of God and confess the Word of God at all times.
