Made in the courts of heaven – You are unique.
Usually, when you set out to create something, you often start with imagination. Before you leave the house for the workplace or to school, you’d picture what the traffic will be like and how the work environment will look today; it’s something we do unconsciously most times.
When an artist wants to create an image – whether it’s a drawing, painting, sculpture – he or she often imagines what the final product would look or sound like. It’s a conscious thing; we paint a mental picture of what we want to realise. So, the artist sets out to physically express what the mind has imagined.
This is an attribute of God, imagination. The difference is that while as humans we attempt to see the end from the beginning, God KNOWS the end from the beginning. Why? Because He is already at the end, that is, what we consider as the end (the future) is God’s present.
Something unique and beautiful happened at the beginning of creation. God had imagined what and how the entire world would look like, so when the Blessed Trinity set out to create the world, they were simply “calling the things that are not as though they were.”
Reading about creation in the Book of Genesis chapter 1, you’ll observe something in the following verses of scriptures: Genesis 1:10; 12; 18; 21; 25. In each of them, you’ll see this clause “God saw that it was good.”
Before God will command any creature to be fruitful and multiply, He always made sure that the creature perfectly conformed to what He had imagined; that all the specifics for that animate or inanimate object were in place and aligned to His original idea. Then, He’d ask them to go ahead and multiply after their kind. So God had taste as to what He wanted each creature to look like.
God is meticulous; He is punctilious; God is precise; God is intentional about his aims and purpose for His creation. No wonder the men and women that God uses are people that have great sights, understand and follow patterns like Noah, Moses, Nehemiah, Elisha, Jeremiah, Daniel, Peter, Paul etc.
In the case of man, however, something unique happened. After man (male and female) was created, God didn’t check to see if “man was good”. Why? Because of verses 26 – 27.
Male and female were made exactly in the image and likeness of God, so they were already good by default because by definition God is faultless/without deformity. God didn’t have to check if their body shape and attributes were okay. The image of God is not corruptible, the likeness of God is perfect. So, God simply asked them to go ahead and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it. Genesis 1:28.
But to still add another layer of confirmation as to man’s uniqueness, God took a good look in verse 31 and saw that everything that He has made was VERY good.
The human body is an intricate system that is so beautifully crafted and magnificently connected that ONLY God could have imagined and realised such artwork of various elements – Oxygen, Hydrogen, Carbon, Nitrogen, Sodium, Calcium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Chlorine, Phosphorus, Sulfur, bicarbonates, hormones, iron, etc.
The body is made up of about 270 bones at infancy that fuses into 206-213 bones in adulthood. It is made up of over 600 muscles. If we were to place the blood vessels of an adult on the ground and connect them end-to-end, it’d stretch about 100,000km; that’s almost two and a half times the distance around the earth, which is 40,075km. We have between 2,000 – 8,000 taste buds on our tongue, which are replaced roughly every two weeks or so. On the cochlea (ear), we have around 15,500 hairs cells to help tune in and amplify sounds.
When we bite, the back molars can generate a pressure of 70 pounds per square inch. The human peripheral nervous system has over 100 billion nerve cells (neurons) running throughout the body. We have between two and four million eccrine sweat glands. The small intestine has a total absorptive surface area of approximately 4,500 square metres (5,400 square yards).
We inhale above 2,000 gallons of air daily, a quantity that can almost fill a normal size swimming pool and the lungs has about 600 million tiny sacs called alveoli. The human heart beats between 60 to 100 times per minute, that’s 3,600 to 6000 per hour and 86,000 to 144,000 daily. Multiply that by the number of years you’ve lived and you’ll be wowed by the Infinite Designer.
Beloved, you were carved in the courts of heaven, verified by the Blessed Trinity and Certified Authentic/Original. There’s no need for insecurities, no need for low self-esteem, no need for surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures, no need for the worldly appendages because you were fearfully and wonderfully made – Psalm 139:14.
