When the Lord grants speed, even kings on the wheels of chariots can be overtaken by men on the wheels of God.
Elijah’s case with Ahab proves the above truth. When God granted Elijah speed, he ran faster than Ahab’s chariots to the gates of the city.
When God granted Philip divine transportation by the Holy Spirit in Acts 8:39-40, the Bible records that he was suddenly found in Azotus. And went about doing his business of gospel evangelism.
When Jesus entered the boat of his disciples who were crossing over to Capernaum in John 6:21, they immediately found themselves at the shore. Such a divine transportation.
In Joel 2, God said that he will restore the years of wastage and losses unto his people. And He he did and still does.
In all of the above cases, God made the people to be where they ought to be according to his divine timing for them. They were neither late to their destination nor running ahead of his timing, although that may not be apparent in the human realm.
Beloved, the speed that God grants to you is not meant for you to be equal to your mates. People may be your mate in age, experience, and academic qualifications, but that doesn’t make them your mate according to the divine schedule.
When God grants you speed, he doesn’t have to put you at the same level as they are. You can be ahead of them in the physical or even behind, but that not the point. The speed from God is not to draw a comparison with them.
The age mates of Abraham had seen their grandchildren before Abraham saw his little child, Isaac. The speed that God granted him for the lost years was that when his divine timing came, he had his child, and other promises God made to him came to pass in their time.
So, God’s speed is not granted so you can compete with or compare yourself to your equals. God’s speed is not for you to oppress others. It is not for a show of force.
It is given so you will be where you should be when you ought to be there according to God’s calendar and agenda for your life.
May the Lord grant you speed this week, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
