If one only reads the Acts of the Apostles, one may be prone to think that the Holy Spirit is given for only spiritual works – with the various gifts and manifestations. While those are important works of the Holy Ghost, it must be noted that He is not limited to them.
When Jesus spoke concerning the Holy Spirit teaching us all things, He meant ALL things, including things that are not strictly related to salvation and miracles but also our jobs, caring for our homes, raising our children, building and maintaining godly relationships, excelling in our studies and business, etc.
In Genesis 1 we see that the Holy Spirit was pivotal in creation. As he was brooding over the waters, once God spoke the word, the Word and the Spirit created what was said. The Trinity will later make man in their image and command man to continue the process of invention and adaptation, using created things, to satisfy present needs in all generations.
It is therefore no surprise that the Holy Spirit enables us to do physical work as well.
So, in Exodus 35 verses 30 through 35, we see the Holy Spirit specially equipping Bezaleel, Aholiab and their co-workers with wisdom, understanding and knowledge to conceive, plan, invent, fabricate, weave, and compute all manner of cunning works – on gold, silver, brass, stones, wood, embroidery and engravings. All of these were revealed and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
These show that even in our physical jobs, studies, and all manner of endeavours, the Holy Spirit can inspire and enable us to invent things and execute them excellently. Beloved, the Holy Ghost wants to express himself through you in medicine and surgery, engineering and economics, history and literature, education and information sciences, fashion and technology, and all aspects of human endeavour. Do not limit the Holy Spirit to healings, deliverances, tongues-speaking and prophecies. He is much more than those and does much more as well.
Daniel had the excellent Spirit of God. That is, the Spirit of God granted him a special gift of wisdom that made him excel in all aspects of knowledge required in the political, socioeconomic, intellectual, and spiritual spheres of the palace where he lived. He was equipped for his job as the head of the senators in the empire.
Therefore, we need the Holy Spirit, not only because He empowers us spiritually, but also physically. The Holy Spirit never leaves any area of our lives arid.
