In life, some people often assume that things happen on their own. That everything is about luck and fortune or misfortune. While there are certain things that we can’t find any explanations for, as the reasons underlying them, it’ll be foolishness to think that you can stroll through life not being intentional as to what you want.
God increases what you plant and water
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 1 Corinthians 3:6.
Please note that God gave the increase of what Paul planted and Apollos watered. He didn’t go to make something else grow and multiply. Nope, it was the same seed that Paul planted, and Apollos watered that God multiplied. So, it’s important to note that God has this rule that will always hold as long as the earth remains.
As someone said, “life is practical, not mystical.” Growth in any area of life doesn’t occur in absentia. There are always factors that contribute to the growth of anything. You need to plant the seed you want to grow; then, wait for it to germinate, water it if necessary, weed around it, prune it if necessary, guide the plumule until it becomes what you want and yields her fruits.
God blesses the works of your hands
In another passage of the scriptures, Deuteronomy 28:12, the Bible says, “The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.”
From this, we also learn that God shall bless the works of your hands, that is, your labour, your effort. So, God makes your investments grow to the point where you can lend to nations. But you have to make that investment first before any multiplication. And if you don’t invest in anything worthwhile, you shouldn’t expect to reap anything worthwhile.
So, if you want to lead a Christlike life, plant and water the seeds outlined in the Holy Scriptures that guarantee a Christlike living. If you want to succeed in life’s endeavours, plant the seeds of hard work, discipline, consistency and a great relationship with God. If you want happiness, you must sow the seeds of living in peace with others and forgiveness. If you want to be loved, you must love others as yourself.
If you desire a happy home, then you must understand that marriage is work. You must constantly invest in the seeds that make a happy home, such as love, submission, communication, forgiveness, compromise, understanding, peacemaking, humility, listening ears etc.
What you plant and water is what grows and yields
Whatever you want, discover the seed(s) that need to be planted and watered. Then, go ahead and do that. That is the way to do it; that’s the way to make those wishes come through. Feed what you want to grow.
And by the way, it’s also natural that if you sow and water hatred, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, deceit, lies, envy, lust, pride etc, you’ll reap a houseful of them. “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” – Galatians 6:7
