When Joseph received the dream from God, he was excited to share the same with his siblings and parents. His excitement may have been orchestrated by the magnitude of the elevation from God, so great that even his parents would reverence him.
But note this: God always does things with divine precision and a predetermined objective. He is neither jobless nor careless but is strategic with what he reveals to anyone. God glories in keeping certain things secret, but when he reveals them, there is always a purpose attached to such revelation.
While the dreams may seem to only talk about the exaltation of Joseph to a height of prominence, it was with a greater purpose – the preservation of the sons of Israel during the famine that would soon occur across the region.
So, every dream, vision, idea, trance, revelation and insight from God to you has a divine purpose to accomplish. The purpose of a dream may be immediate or futuristic. You may not understand it now, but if you search carefully and follow the giver of the dream, you’ll understand it.
Reflection: Do you know the purpose behind that dream or vision you got from God? While it’s good to be excited because of the great things God wants to do with and through you, find out WHY God chose you to be part of fulfilling His purpose on earth. There is always a greater purpose.
