The dream, vision or idea you have received from God is always part of the grand purpose you may or may not be aware of. That means you fit into something bigger than yourself, something more important than your glory.
Joseph’s dream was part of the grand purpose of God of taking Israel into the Promised Land. But to get to Canaan, Israel had to go to Egypt as God had told Abraham, so the role of Joseph comes in here.
Although the dreams speak of his exaltation, he is part of a sequence that began before his birth. Despite seeing his father bow to him, he is not greater than Jacob nor of more consequence than Judah, who would birth the Saviour Jesus. In fact, Israel is surnamed after the God of Abraham, Isaac and JACOB, and she represents all the twelve sons of Jacob, not only Joseph.
God’s plan began with Abraham, continued with Isaac, passed on to Jacob, and here is Joseph sent to Egypt as a means of preservation to Israel, and Moses would continue from there till he handed over to Joshua, who brought Israel into Canaan.
Reflection: You are a fundamental part of a great thing that God has planned from the foundation of the world. You are important. But remember, you are a piece of the puzzle, not the entire puzzle.
You are not greater than the stars that bowed to you neither is your sheaf better than other sheaves. Therefore, remain humble.
