Many people don’t realise that what you say about yourself is more important than what other people say about you. People can say all manner of things about you, but as long as you don’t agree with their opinion, it remains their opinion. It only becomes your opinion (reality) the moment you accept it, allowing it to settle. That opinion can then proceed to cause its harm.
In John chapter 9, we see the story of the man that was born blind. After the healing of his sight by Jesus, people gathered and began to argue if the formerly blind man was actually the one or not.
While this whole debate went on, the man appeared and spoke for himself. Once he spoke, the debate ceased because he defined who he was. He cleared the air, and everyone now saw him for who he is, a man that can see who was born blind.
Beloved, people can speculate on who you are; men can call you various names; devils can give you a tag, but that is not who you are. Who you are is whom you say you are. Except for God, you are the most important scriptwriter and actor in the movie of your life.
Until you speak, however, their opinion is what holds. But the moment you open your mouth, you define yourself, either confirming their views of you or negating their postulations.
The question is: do you know who you are? If yes, then speak so everyone knows. You are the one that defines who you are and your destiny.
