Recently, I was reading the book of Exodus. In chapter 16 I came to see where God asked the children of Israel to go out daily for 5 days to gather an omer of manna for each man. On the 6th day, they were to gather twice as much to keep for the 7th day which is Sabbath. On the Sabbath, there is no manna from heaven.
And true to God’s Word and instruction from Moses, an omer was enough for the big man and small man. They were all satisfied with the recommended quantity from God.
Then, in the last verse of that chapter, I saw that an omer is the tenth part of an ephah. And the prayer below dropped in my heart. It is a prayer of something I truly desire to happen – becoming a kingdom partner with God beyond the level of tithing.
You see, God sustained everyone with an omer of manna for 40 years. That was their daily bread for four decades. Yes, the Israelites also had other things to eat such as meat, milk and others, as seen in various parts of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. But the rhema prayer that dropped in my heart is this:
Prayer: Dear God, may I get to the point in my life where a tenth of all that you give to me will be sufficient to satisfy ALL my needs (including my family’s), while the remaining 90% will be given to thee in gratitude. I want to live daily with a tenth part, while You take the rest. O Lord, I desire to financially partner with you towards the growth of your kingdom within and outside the Church. Grant this heart desire of mine, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
