Sometimes, we’re just tired of thinking. I mean, we are tired of our minds running here and there.
I don’t know if it’s decision fatigue, but you observe that the more decisions you make during the day, the more you feel drained. And since the voices in your mind never go to rest, they keep reminding you of the several things you need to do which you haven’t done yet.
The moment you’re done with planning your day, you have to prepare to leave the house. While you’re thinking of that, you’re concerned about who picks your kids from school. And while at that you remember your lunch appointment. And before you even enter the shower, you remember that you need to do groceries, else everyone will have you for dinner.
So, as you drive to work, you keep thinking and planning and thinking and planning. At that point you just feel like turning off your brain, keeping it in a refrigerator, padlocking the refrigerator and asking for a loan of an empty head because it’s just too much. I mean, don’t these voices know or understand that you’re tired? That you need some rest to recalibrate?
Okay, God being so kind, you’ll just remember that you have a stereo in your car or an mp3 in your bag or a podcast App on your phone or some beautiful songs. So, quickly, you turn either of them on. Et Voilà… peace… tranquillity in the mind.
You see, sometimes, we listen to music, to a podcast, or watch movies or even read a book because we are tired of thinking. We just want to listen to the thoughts of others because we are tired of our own thoughts. We have so many voices talking in our minds that we want to shut them out and be free from thoughts.
Thanks for reading, and do have a stress-free day. God bless you.
